Tango Orchestra Class
The Tango Orchestra Class (TOC) is one of the Orquesta Típica's of the department of Argentinian Tango of Codarts, Rotterdam Conservatoire. The orchestra is under direction of violinist and orchestra leader Micha Molthoff (Zárate) en consists of bandoneons, strings and piano.
TOC is a place to learn the profession: to play for people who dance the Tango at Milonga's all over the world.
One of the goals of the Tango Orchestra Class is playing as much as possible as a group. Even the big examples in tango followed this road. Ofcourse there is a solid preparation before there can be performances.
Students study their parts individualy and every week there are group rehearsals of the strings, bandoneons and piano/doublebass.
Every tuesday evening the orchestra members come together for rehearsal in the World Music and Dance Centre in Rotterdam.
