Micha Molthoff

Micha Molthoff  played in Quinteto Bravo and was part of the Parisian Orquesta Típica of Alejandro Schwarz and Victor Villena. In 2002 he founded Quinteto Zárate. With this group he made several CD- and theatre productions.
From 2006 on Micha is the violin teacher at the Argentinian Tango department of Codarts, University for the Arts. In this function he is also primarius of Gran Orquesta Típica Otra and leader of the Tango Orchestra Class, TOC (Orquesta Típica).
Micha studied violin at the Conservatory of Utrecht with Philippe Hirshhorn and at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Peter Brunt.
After his studies he played in different symphony orchestra’s and chamber music ensembles like the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Asko-Schönberg Ensemble.

Around that time he formed the Micha Molthoff Ensemble, with whom he did a theatre tour and with whom he made several cd’s.
In theatre group Orkater he was involved in making and playing different theatre productions. He also composed music for some music theatre performances and for documentaries.
Micha Molthoff worked with Frank Groothof, Frédérique Spigt, Gé Reijnders, Gijs Scholten van Aschat, Gustavo Beytelmann, Hector Zazou, Herman van Veen, Jaap van Zweden, Remko Vrijdag, Rob Hauser and Vincent van Warmerdam and many others.
